The concept is to use the existing natural elements like parks, canal edge and the abandoned railway track to create strong connections.
Two axes, one connecting the Treptower Park on the east to the west called as “The Urban Connection”. The other connecting the canal edge in the south to the abandoned railway track on the north, eventually connecting the canal, to the Grölitzer Park called as the “The Public Realm Axis” will form a grid of nature around the urban neighborhood.
The idea is to provide easily accessible natural getwaway for the neighborhood. These linking of public open spaces, will contribute to a larger network which would eventually create a green natural corridor around the entire city.
At the intersection of these two axes, creating a new heart for the neighbourhood, lies the Memorial of History. This sheds light on the tragic Berlin Wall.
